- The Nintendo Switch 2 has been officially revealed by Nintendo. There will be a Nintendo Direct on <t:1743591600:D> with more information. According to insider sources, the console will be released in June/July.
- Dragon Quest III HD-2D was the only game in Japan to sell more than 1 million physical copies across both PS5 and Nintendo Switch. If you only count individual releases, the biggest selling physical game is Super Mario Party Jamboree for the Switch, selling just over 950,000 copies.
- A member of Team Cherry (Hollow Knight) changed their profile picture to a slice of cake. When reverse searched, the cake led to a recipe that was published on April 2nd 2024. April 2nd just happens to be the same date as the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. So maybe… MAYBE there will be a release of the new Hollow Knight game.
- A 58yo man has been arrested in Japan for selling modified Nintendo Switch consoles. It is the first of such arrests. He was selling the consoles for ¥28,000 (Approx €175) and included 27 games.
- Sony has cancelled two live-service games from Bend Studios (Days Gone) and Bluepoint. Bluepoint were working on a God of War title. With the recent failure of Concord, Sony was “Shell Shocked” and they re-evaluated all of their first party games, which left to these cancellations.
- Mob Entertainment (Poppy Playtime) has sued Google for failing to remove fake/scam Poppy Playtime games that use their copyright from the Google Play Store. Even though the games are title Poppy Playtime: Chapter 3 / Chapter 4, the apps on Google Play ask for money in-app and then redirects the user to a guide for a mod. The guide in question has been taken offline, so whenever a customer pays, they are given a dead link.
