Valve has introduced new rules around advertising within games. Product placements and in-game ads (like in racing games) are fine, but games that force the player to watch (or engage with) an advertisement are not allowed. This happens on mobile games more so, but the incentive to do the same on PC games, could become an issue.
Yuji Horii has revealed that while it was announced in 2021, Dragon Quest XII is still in development. More information about the game will become available once ready.
