  • Overnight, TikTok was banned in the United States and no longer allows accounts that were created in the US to access the service. This ban also applies to Marvel Snap as the Nuverse (the publisher) is the gaming arm of ByteDance. Apparently the developers, Second Dinner, was not aware that the TikTok ban was going to affect their game.
  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard director Corine Busche is leaving BioWare after 18 years at EA. She revealed in a interview with Eurogamer that she was given an offer that she “couldn’t turn down”. BioWare is currently working on the next Mass Effect game.
  • Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse has agreed to pay a $20 million complaint with the FTC accusing it of “violating children’s privacy laws and deceiving users over the true cost of obtaining rare loot box prizes.”
